Looking Back on Sweden's 'Twin Faces': Reflections on Sweden and European Integration
Karlstad University, Faculty of Social and Life Sciences, Department of Politics and History.
2011 (English)In: I Europamissionens tjänst - Vänbok till Rutger Lindahl / [ed] Claes Alvstam, Birgitta Jännebring and Daniel Naurin, Göteborg: Centre for European Research (CERGU), Göteborg University , 2011, p. 265-273Chapter in book (Refereed)
Abstract

This chapter, published in a volume celebrating the retirement of Rutger Lindahl, Professor of Political Science at Göteborg University, examines the continuing relevance of the work of Lindahl and Naurin published in 2005 in explaining the twin faces of Swedish government policy towards issues of European integration today in 2011. Miles argues that the concept of 'twin faces' still has resonance for explaining Swedish perspectives towards the European Union, and even the euro, during the period of non-socialist Alliance government in Sweden.
