Problems regarding moisture in Southeast Asia (English)
Abstract [en]

The author has, with the help of AK Consultancy Indoor Air AB, formed a series of questions regarding moisture problems in buildings and how these are handled in extreme climates with high temperatures and a high relative humidity. Furthermore to analyse and indentify key material that makes a construction safe against moisture problems. Ventilation, AC and the choice of materials have in a later stage of the thesis been investigated to enhance the knowledge of moisture protection. The research for this report includes measurements on existing buildings, calculation models on the building envelope for analyses and the ingoing materials of the envelope. The health aspect of moisture problems related to “sick building syndrome” has been included and interviews have been conducted to gather relevant information.

A study of the American system, ASHRAE, American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers and the standards used in Singapore has been made to highlight the difference. A comparison between a Swedish wall construction and the technical solutions made in extreme climates for the envelope shows the difference in design that has to be made for the envelope to successfully stop moisture to penetrate the building. 

Furthermore has a study in the building process been made to investigate how moisture problems are handled during construction and how known problems are processed and treated.

Författaren har med hjälp av AK konsultföretag utarbetat en frågeställning angående hur fuktrelaterade problem hanteras och behandlas i ett extremt klimat med hög temperatur och hög luftfuktighet, samt att genom analys identifiera de nyckelmaterial som får konstruktionen säker ur fuktsynpunkt. I ett senare skede har ventilation, AC, samt materialval undersökts för att bredda kunskapen om fuktsäkerhet. I examensarbetet har mätningar på befintliga byggnader utförts, beräkningar på klimatskalet har utförts med framtagna metoder för analysering och de material som ingår i konstruktionen har studerats. Författaren har även inkluderat de hälsorelaterade problem som kopplas till fuktskador och relevant information från intervjuer har inhämtats.

Genom att vidare ställa det svenska bygget mot de principer och tekniska lösningar som författaren kommit fram till i extrema klimat kan skillnaden i uppbyggnad tydliggöras mellan de olika klimaten. En undersökning i den amerikanska standarden för inomhusluft, ASHRAE, American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers, har även utförts för att se hur den står mot de normer som används i sydöstra Asien, främst till Singapore Standards, SS.  

Vidare har granskning gjorts av byggprocessen i sydöstra Asien för att undersöka hur fuktrelaterade problem behandlas under byggnationen samt hur de uppkomna problemen bearbetas och åtgärdas i ett senare skede.
