Abstract [en]

This thesis focuses on children’s weaning patterns, diet and migration. The results derive from stable carbon, nitrogen and sulphur isotopic analyses conducted on bone and teeth from children between ages nil and fifteen. The relationship between local fauna and diet is also examined in order to understand the children’s geographical origin and diet. The animals found at Smörkullen were both of local and to non local animal species and both were used in service of the inhabitants during the Roman Iron Age.
