Abstract [en]

This Degree Project was about finding the best loudspeaker placement in a heavyweight truck and also the best suited loudspeaker for this task. The project took place in Södertälje, Sweden, on behalf of Scania CV AB. The goal was to create a new listening environment in a truck cabinet.The results were accomplished by the performance of a few different tasks. First a benchmark was made on Scanias top competitors. Second a listening test was made to get an apprehension of what people find lacking in the sound reproduction of the sound system. Finally a new speaker system has been developed from comparing the results from experimenting with listening to temporary loudspeakers in different positions with the results from a reciprocal modal analysis and the information gained from the listening test.The conclusion of the project is that the position of the door speakers should be moved forward and that the tweeters should be replaced by full range speakers which should be placed in the upper interior above the windshield. It’s also important that the speakers are on-axis towards the listener.

Syftet med detta examensarbete var att göra en utredning för att försöka ta fram den optimala högtalarplaceringen i en lastbilshytt samt hitta högtalare som passar bra för uppgiften. Arbetet har utförts i Södertälje åt Scania CV AB. Målet var att ta fram en lyssningsmiljö i en lastbil med nya högtalarplaceringar som låter bättre än de nuvarande placeringarna.Resultatet som nåtts har erhållits via ett antal olika metoder. Först har en benchmark gjorts på några av Scanias konkurrenter. Sedan har ett lyssningstest utförts på ett antal testpersoner utifrån dagens hytt för att skapa en grund att utgå ifrån. Slutligen har ett högtalarsystem utvecklats uitfrån laborerande av lyssning med högtalare i temporära högtalarlådor på olika positioner och jämfört detta med en reciprok modalanalys och den information som framkommit i lyssningstest.Resultatet innebär att dörrhögtalarna bör flyttas längre fram och att diskanterna i A-stolparna istället skall bytas ut mot fullrange högtalare som placeras i hatthyllan och där vikten ligger i att högtalarna riktas mot lyssnaren.
