Abstract [en]

Humankind faces the most serious challenge ever – sustainable development. A new paradigm based on respectof nature and awareness of natural mechanisms is needed. The concept of exergy and exergy based methods offers aunique potential to support this. Applications to real problems and possible solutions related to environmental engineeringare presented.
