Cybersecurity has been of importance in the cyber world for many years, however, the last past years have shown that cyberattacks occur broadly around the world and are more robust than it has been
previously. This is because the threats affect many organizations, systems, and networks. The interest to secure assets, information, and data has been demanding, and security professionals assist daily in identifying, securing, and preventing cyber threats from occurring (McElroy, 2020; López, and Varela, 2018). Vulnerability assessment and penetration testing are two examples of security measures where security professionals identify vulnerabilities and threats. However, it has also been seen that several of the existing security tools in the market are demanding to use and are time-consuming to manage. It has also been seen by security professionals that vulnerability assessment tools could be difficult and multiple tools would be needed to do a deep analysis of existing vulnerabilities in organizations and systems (Fagroud, et.al, 2020; Sree, 2022). This research contributes to cybersecurity where the focus is to make the process of vulnerability assessment more efficient by integrating several security functions into the same solution. The research also follows the design science research, where the artifact will be an initiation. Several methods will be utilized to construct and develop the end artifact. Examples of such are expert interviews, literature reviews, interviews with stakeholders, prototypes, and scenario-based field experiments. The artifact is a web application called VASHO, which is constructed on the Django framework with the integration of Shodan and CVE. Several functions of the web application include the use of a search function with filters already implemented, the possibility to download the results, the possibility to use their own Shodan API instead of the free one, and a personalized login page.
