Young people in today's society risk starting their criminal career at a young age (Brå, 2023). This study explores the collaboration between social services and the police at a formal and local level to prevent this. The empirical data is collected through qualitative semi-structured interviews and then analyzed with a thematic analysis. The selection was characterized by both strategy and convenience. The respondents who participated were two field assistants in social services, two municipal police officers and one district police officer. The theory applied was the interaction theory with an input of social representations. In the results of the study, it emerged that cooperation between social services and the police takes place mostly at group level where they gather to share a situational picture or inform about something specific. Both authorities are also involved in various collaborative projects such as SIG and SSPF. In addition to this, collaboration occurs in situations where the respective authorities need support in everyday life. The biggest challenges in collaboration that emerged in the study were lack of resources and uncertainty around confidentiality regulations. Both the police authority and social services felt that the police's lack of resources could make cooperation difficult. With regard to the confidentiality regulations, the police authority was perceived to be more secure about what could be handed out than the social services. The field assistants expressed that the secrecy between the authorities was a gray area characterized by ambiguity and situational assessment. In conclusion, suggestions such as increased resource availability, the return of previous crime prevention programs and the start-up of new forms of cooperation to develop cooperation are mentioned

Ungdomar i dagens samhälle riskerar att påbörja sin kriminella karriär i ung ålder (Brå, 2023). I denna studie utforskas samverkan mellan socialtjänst och polis på en formell och lokal nivå för att arbeta brottsförebyggande. Empirin har samlats in genom kvalitativa semistrukturerade intervjuer och analyseras därefter med en tematisk analys. Urvalet baserades på strategiska överväganden och praktiskt bekvämlighet. Respondenterna som deltog var två fältassistenter inom socialtjänsten, två kommunpoliser och en områdespolis. Teorin som tillämpades var samverkansteorin med en utgångspunkt i sociala representationer. I studiens resultat framkom det att samverkan mellan socialtjänsten och polisen sker främst på gruppnivå där de samlas för att dela lägesbild eller informera om någonting specifikt. Båda myndigheter ingår även i olika samverkansprojekt som Sociala insatsgrupper (SIG) och samverkansformen Skola, Socialtjänst, Polis och Fritids (SSPF). Utöver detta förekommer samverkan i de situationer där respektive myndighet behöver stöd i vardagen. De största utmaningarna i samverkan som framkom i studien var bristande resurser och osäkerhet kring sekretessregleringar. Både Polismyndigheten och socialtjänsten upplevde att polisens bristande resurser kunde försvåra samverkan. Vad gäller sekretessbestämmelserna upplevdes Polismyndigheten säkrare om vad som fick delas än socialtjänsten. Fältassistenterna uttryckte att sekretessen mellan myndigheterna var en gråzon som präglas av oklarhet och situationsanpassad bedömning. Avslutningsvis nämns förslag såsom ökad resurstillgång, återföring av tidigare brottsförebyggande program samt uppstartning av nya samverkansformer för att utveckla samverkan.
