Abstract [en]

This study explores the importance of training and development programs for employee’s personal development and professional advancement by understanding how they felt towards these initiatives taken for them. The authors interviewed ten IT professionals that revealed many prominent views and main areas from it. These ten professionals represented IT sectors of two nations Sweden and India. The analysis demonstrated how employees felt about the training and development provided to them and perceived its effectiveness. At the end of the study it was observed that these programs made employee feel valuable and gave them sense of collaboration, community and gave a boost in their confidence. These had a positive and motivating impact on their technical and soft skills

This study will be useful in the contributing information for the future studies and advancements in the field of IT to help organization understand the employee’s perspective about training programs for their development and how can organization retain employee by taking this into consideration.
