Bakgrund: Anorexia Nervosa (AN) är en allvarlig ätstörning som påverkar patienten både somatiskt och psykiskt. Sjukdomen kännetecknas av undervikt, förvrängd kroppsbild, rädsla för viktökning och psykisk samsjuklighet är vanligt. Sjuksköterskors kunskap och kompetens är avgörande för att bygga relationer och kommunicera effektivt med ungdomar med AN.

Syfte: Belysa sjuksköterskors upplevelser av att vårda ungdomar med Anorexia Nervosa.

Metod: En kvalitativ litteraturöversikt där syftet besvaras med en kvalitativ ansats. Boolesk söklogik och trunkering användes vid artikelsökningarna i databaserna CINAHL, Medline och PubMed. Analysen genomfördes enligt fyra steg: läsa, dokumentera, identifiera och sammanställa teman.

Resultat: Ungdomar med AN kräver komplex vård, där sjuksköterskors empati och personcentrerad vård är avgörande för att stärka relationen och delaktigheten. Resursbrist och gränssättningsutmaningar kan dock påverka vårdrelationen negativt. Resultatet redovisas genom tre teman: Förmågan att bygga relationer genom att sätta gränser, Att se individen bakom Anorexia Nervosa och Utmaningar för att skapa god omvårdnad samt sex subteman.

Konklusion: Sjuksköterskor framhäver att kompetens, erfarenhet och en terapeutisk relation är avgörande för att vårda ungdomar med AN. Kommunikation, gränssättning, familjesamarbete och emotionellt stöd är viktiga, men utmanas av bristande sjukdomsinsikt, komplexa behov och resursbrist.

Background: Anorexia Nervosa (AN) is a serious eating disorder that affects the patient both somatically and psychologically. The disease is characterized by underweight, distorted body image and fear of weight gain, and mental comorbidity is common. Nurses’ knowledge and skills are crucial for building relationships and communicating effectively with adolescents with AN.

Purpose: To describe nurses experiences of caring for young people with Anorexia Nervosa.

Method: A qualitative literature review with a qualitative approach. Boolean search logic and truncation were used in the article searches in the databases CINAHL, Medline and PubMed. The analysis was conducted according to four steps: reading, documenting, identifying and compiling themes.

Results: Adolescents with AN require complex care, where nurses' empathy and person-centered care are crucial to strengthen the relationship and participation. Resource shortages and boundary-setting challenges can negatively impact the care relationship. The results are presented through three themes: The ability to build relationships by setting boundaries, Seeing the individual behind Anorexia Nervosa and Challenges in creating good care, as well as six subthemes.

Conclusion: Nurses emphasize that competence, experience and a therapeutic relationship are crucial in caring for young people with AN. Communication, boundary setting, family collaboration and emotional support are important, but are challenged by a lack of understanding of the disease, complex needs and a lack of resources.
