Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

The aim of this study was to investigate adult patients´experience of the treatment and care in trauma care. The method chosen to be used was a literature review with a systematic approach. The data collection was done through two different databases, Cinahl and PubMed. A total of 15 articles with a qualitative approach that met the purpose and inclusion criteria were included. The 15 articles that were included were quality reviewed according to the GRADE-system and had ethical approval or ethical approved reasoning. The results that emerged were four main categories: Communication, Knowledge, Resources and Experience, of which all main categories had three subcategories each. The conclusion of this rapport was that some patients need more information about what is happening and others less. This was due to their previous experience. It was also stressful with new staff who asked the same questions from time to time so that the patients wanted a unified way of working. A greater understanding of the care process was felt to be of benefit to the patients and also a standardized discharge which could lead to increased understanding. A standardized way of working in trauma care and more training and practice is also seen as an advantage for patients.
