Sammanfattning

Denna studie är ett examensarbete för filosofie kandidatexamen i informationsdesign med inriktning rumslig gestaltning. Studien har syftat till attundersöka hur källsortering kan etableras i flera rumsliga etapper och underlättaför boenden att källsortera sitt avfall. Detta görs i samarbete med Willhemfastigheter som beskriver en problematik med att boenden inte hanterar sitt avfallpå ett korrekt sätt vilket leder till olägenheter samt en hög arbetsbelastning påbovärdarna.Teorierna som studien lyfter fram berör visuella samband och den kognitivaförmågan att bearbeta vägledande information i förhållande till gestaltprinciperna.Studien bygger på tidigare forskning som berör källsorteringspraxis. Metodernasom genomfördes i studien bidrog med kvalitativ och kvantitativ empiri harutgångspunkt på användarcentrerad design. Metodresultatet har i sin tursammanställt och analyserats för att skapa förståelse för platsens rumsligaförhållanden och användarnas behov. Sammanfattningsvis ledde den insamladeempirin i samverkan med teori och tidigare forskning till en gestaltadinformationsresa i flera etapper. I den gestaltade informationsresan vägledsanvändaren med multimodal information i relation till den spatiala- rumsligaorganisationen för att minska användarnas kognitiva belastning. Gestaltningen ärett steg i ett led för bättre källsortering.

Abstract

This study is a bachelor thesis in the field of Information design with focus onspatial interior design. The aim of this study is to investigate how source sortingcan be established in several spatial stages and make it easier for residents to sorttheir waste at source. This is done in collaboration with Willhem properties,which describes a problem with residents not handling their waste correctly,which leads to inconvenience and a high workload on the landlords.The study builds on previous research that concerns source sorting practices. Thetheories that the study highlights concern visual connections and the cognitiveability to process guiding information in relation to the gestalt principles. Themethods implemented in the study to collect qualitative and quantitative empiricalevidence are based on user-centered design. The method results have in turn beencompiled and analyzed to create an understanding of the location's spatialconditions and the users' needs. In summary, the collected empirical evidence incollaboration with theory and previous research led to a structured informationjourney in several stages. In the information journey, the user is guided withmultimodal information in relation to the spatial organization in order to reducethe users' cognitive load. The design is one step in a chain for better sourcesorting.
