Undersökningen syftar till att ta reda på hur områden som pekats ut som värdefulla kulturmiljöer skyddas i översiktsplan och detaljplaner av Stockholms kommun. För att göra detta så analyseras detaljplanernas och översiktsplanens bestämmelser och råd utifrån en modell med bas i boken Kulturhistorisk värdering av bebyggelse samtidigt som exempel på skyddsmetoder och – bestämmelser, råd samt vägledningar sammanfattas och tolkas. Uppsatsens slutsatser kan sammanfattas som att kommunen har möjlighet att skydda sina värdefulla kulturmiljöer men att kommunen i detaljplanerna överlag inte gör det. I översiktsplanen finns en ambition att ta till vara på kulturmiljöerna men i och med att planen framförallt består av råd och vägledningar så stannar det vid ambitionen.

The survey aims to determine how areas designated as valuable cultural environments are protected in comprehensive plans and detailed development plans in the municipality of Stockholm. To do this, the regulations of the plans are analyzed within a model based on ideas from Kulturhistorisk värdering av bebyggelse by Axel Unnerbäck from 2002. At the same time examples of protection methods, regulations, building advice and guidelines are summarized and interpreted. The conclusions of the essay can be summarized as following. While the municipality has the capability to protect its valuable cultural environments, the detailed development plans do not do so in general. The comprehensive plans often have the ambition to protect cultural environments, but since it mainly consists of guidelines and advice it tends to stay at the level of ambition.
