Detta är en studie på kandidatnivå inom informationsdesign med inriktning rumslig gestaltning. Studien fokuserar i synnerhet på att främja jämställdhet inom den rumsliga utformningen på fritidsgårdar för barn och unga med Npfdiagnoserna autism och adhd.

Designförslaget har presenterats utgående från empirisk material i form av semistrukturerade-intervjuer med personal på en fritidsgård och även en expert. Co-designworkshops och tidigare forskning har också förankrats i arbetet. Studien utgår dessutom från teoretiskt grund med arkitektur-principer anpassade för personer med NPF samt teorier inom informationsdesign. En ytterligare teori som har uppmärksammats i arbetet är jämställdhet. Arbetets frågeställning besvaras genom den empiri som nämns i studien och utefter studiens teoretiska grund.   

Målsättningen med arbetet har syftat till att presentera ett designförslag som strävar efter att vara inkluderande för den användargrupp som presenterats i studien. Sedan är designförslagets förhoppning att studien bidrar till en förändring, liten såväl som stor. Eftersom det har uppmärksammats under designprocessen hur fritidsgårdars fysiska miljö inte är anpassade utefter ungdomar med autism och adhd, kan även en liten skillnad medföra en markant betydelse. Ungdomar med autism och adhd har likhet med andra ungdomar rätt till att inkluderas i fritidsgårdar.   

A bachelor’s study in information design with an emphasis on spatial design. This study focuses specifically on promoting equality within the spatial design at youth centre’s for children and youths with neurodevelopmental disorders (NPD diagnoses) autism and adhd.   

The design proposal has been presented based on empirical material in the form of semi-structured interviews with the staff at one youth centre and with an expert. Co-design workshops and previous research have also been addressed in this study. The study is also based on a theoretical foundation with architectural principles adapted for individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders and theories within information design. An additional theory that has been highlighted in the study is equality. The study´s research question is answered through the empirical data and based on the study’s theoretical basis.  

The study´s objective is to present a design proposal that strives to be inclusive for the user group introduced in the study. The hope for the design proposal is that the study can contribute to a difference, either small or large. As it has been noted during the work how the physical environment in youth centre´s is not adapted for youths with adhd and autism, even a small difference can make a significant impact. Youths with autism and adhd have the same rights as other young people to be included in a youth centre.
