Abstract [en]

In this thesis, the figure eight graph with changing vertex conditions depending on one parameter α is investigated. Symmetries of the graph are found and utilized to find the real eigenfunctions which solve the free Schrödinger equation defined on the quantum graph. An analysis of the static solutions reveal wave localization on parts of the graph, and a change of amplitude sign. The structure of the amplitude of the waves hint at the possibility of a Berry’s phase existing in this system, which would be interesting to study in future work. Finally, the trace formula of the parametrized eight figure quantum graph is derived.

I denna avhandling är figur åtta kvantgrafen parametriserad av en parameter α undersökt. Symmetrier av grafen identifierades och utnyttjades för att hitta de reella egenfunktionerna som löser den fria Schrödinger ekvationen definierad på kvantgrafen. Analys av de statiska lösningarna avslöjar lokalisering av vågen och föränding av tecken av vågamplituden. Strukturen av amplituden antyder en möjlighet till existensen av Berrys fas i detta systemet vilket är av intresse att undersöka in framtida arbete. Slutligen beräknades "spår"-formeln av den parametriserade grafen.
