Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine how Talent Management, Workforce- andSuccessionplanning can be used to develop recruitment of players and staff. I also aim toexplore how the above tools can affect the economies of the Allsvenskan clubs.Method: The study has a qualitative approach and was conducted through fourapproximately one hour long semi-structured interviews. The interviewees were employeeswith recruitment responsibilities in four different Allsvenskan clubs. The data wassupplemented with interviews from podcasts and newspapers including a wider variety ofclubs.Theory: The theoretical framework used is Talent Management, Workforce planning andSuccession planning. Results and Conclusion: The results showed that even if they don't mention it by its name, the Allsvenskan clubs use talent management to a wide extent to recruit and develop bothplayers and staff. The clubs are managing both workforce planning and succession planningto a high degree, possibly explained by the high turnover of talent. The study also implies thatdue to high value player contracts being a big part of club incomes, the talent management, workforce planning and succession planning tools can be used to manage, recruit, developand sell high profile talent.1
