Abstract [en]
This study explores the authorship of Martin Lönnebo, bishop of the diocese of Linköping 1980–1995. Lönnebo created the popular prayer breads called the Savior Wreath which has had a great reception in the Church of Sweden with the diocese of Linköping as an epicenter for a new meditation piety connected to the Savior Wreath and Lönnebo's long term advocacy for Christian meditation. The study encompasses a strategic selection of twenty-four books from about sixty unique books in the total published authorship of Lönnebo. The study is focused on the inspirations, primary themes and the intertextuality of the authorship of Lönnebo. There is a certain iterative and experimental methodology in his authorship that made Lönnebo successful in his quest for a theology and spirituality for the modern human. This spirituality marks the return of the senses in the Evangelic Lutheran Church of Sweden. Lönnebo strongly advocated for a spirituality that seeks the invisible through means of the visible and with a language that unites opposites to unity.
