New Approach Methods (NAMs) are increasingly integrated into chemical legislation and regulators are already encountering NAM data in their assessments. The Nordic NAM Training and Networking Event was organized to enhance regulators' skills and understanding of NAMs. The event brought together European and Nordic regulators to build capacity in assessing and interpreting NAM data. Day 1 provided European regulators with the latest updates on NAMs within different regulatory frameworks, while Day 2 offered in-depth, on-site training specifically for Nordic regulators. The on-site training focused on practical application and hands-on assessment of NAM data, namely on skin sensitivity and bioaccumulation. The event underscored the importance of collaboration, continuous learning, and knowledge sharing to prepare regulators for emerging NAM methodologies and regulatory challenges.
