Abstract [en]
This study explores the use of digital tools, such as VR, AR, and 3D modeling, in the preservation, recreation of cultural heritage, and their applications in tourism and education. Based on qualitative interviews with four professionals from museums, authorities and a university. The research examines their experiences and perspectives with immersive digital tools. The findings highlight how these digital technologies enable the documentation and visualization of historical environments while also fostering community engagement and tourism. A previously underexplored aspect highlighted in the study is the potential of VR in classroom education, offering students immersive and gamified experiences to deepen their understanding of history and culture. Additionally, the study discusses challenges such as resource demands, technical limitations, and concerns about the authenticity of digital reconstructions, providing insights into the responsible integration of digital tools in heritage work.
