Abstract [en]
The rapid integration of generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) into education has sparked both opportunities and challenges for students and educators. This study explores high school students' usage patterns and attitudes toward generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, SnapchatAI, and Copilot. Through a mixed-method approach combining surveys and focus group interviews, data from 73 students revealed a strong preference for ChatGPT due to it's accessibility, adaptability, and perceived trustworthiness. The study highlights varied usage patterns, including AI as a tool for text improvement, task initiation, and conceptual understanding, while also addressing ethical concerns surrounding cheating and appropriate AIutilization. Trust in AI was found to increase with frequency of use, though uncertainties about guidelines for responsible AI integration persist. This research underscores the need for clearer educational policies, teacher guidance, and student training to ensure AI serves as acomplementary tool for learning rather than a means for cheating.
