Abstract [en]

The project presents the design and implementation of a novel Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC) system utilizing Orthogonal Frequency- Division Multiplexing (OFDM) modulation on a Zynq UltraScale+ Radio Frequency System-on-Chip (RF SoC) platform. The project leverages the Programmable Logic (PL) of the Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) to execute the OFDM processing tasks. PYNQ Framework facilitates data exchange between the Processing System (PS) and the PL, enabling seamless communication within the RF SoC. A Sivers Radio Frequency (RF) Front End Kit serves as the transceiver for the OFDM radar system. Finally, Python scripts running on the PS handle post-processing and visualization of the acquired data. This work demonstrates the feasibility of implementing a functional OFDM radar system with basic communication capabilities on a single hardware platform, paving the way for future advancements in integrated sensing and communication technologies.

Projektet presenterar design och implementering av ett nytt integrerad avkänning och kommunikationssystem som använder Ortogonal Frekvens- delningsmultiplexering (OFDM) modulering på en Zynq UltraScale+ Radio Frequency System-on-Chip (RF SoC) plattform. Projektet utnyttjar den Programmerbara Logiken (PL) hos Fältprogrammerbar Portmatris (FPGA) för att utföra OFDM-behandlingens uppgifter. PYNQ-ramverket underlättar datautbyte mellan Processystemet (PS) och PL, vilket möjliggör sömlös kommunikation inom RF SoC. En Sivers Radio Frequency (RF) Front- End utrustning fungerar som transceiver för OFDM-radarsystemet. Slutligen hanterar Python-skript som körs på PS efterbehandling och visualisering av den insamlade datan. Detta arbete demonstrerar genomförbarheten av att implementera ett funktionellt OFDM-radarsystem med grundläggande kommunikationsförmåga på en enda hårdvaruplattform, vilket banar väg för framtida framsteg inom integrerad avkänning och kommunikationsteknologi.
