Abstract [sv]

Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att undersöka digitala medels påverkan på elevernas lärande och attityder inom matematikämnet. Frågeställningen som undersöktes var följande:  

-     Vad säger aktuell forskning om hur användningen av digitala medel påverkar elevernas lärande och attityder inom matematikämnet?

Denna studie baserades på systematiska sökningar i databasen ERIC-EBSCO. Det samlades in och kritiskt granskades tio artiklar som berörde forskningsfrågan. Litteraturstudien förhöll sig till empiriska studier som undersöktes ur elevernas perspektiv, angående deras attityder och lärande med stöd av digitala medel inom matematikundervisningen.  

Större delen av resultaten på den aktuella forskning som undersöktes, kom fram till att digitala medel påverkade elevernas attityder och lärande positivt. Resultatet visade även att digitala medel främjade engagemang och motivation som bidrog till utveckling i lärandet. Något mindre vanligt resultat var att det även förekom negativ eller ingen påverkan på elevernas lärande och attityder. Det fanns dock en tydlig trend i de undersökta artiklarna att digitala medel gav positiv påverkan. Studien visade dels på digitala medels påverkan i undervisningen, dels på vilka typer av digitala medel som gav effektivt resultat i undervisningen.

Abstract [en]

The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of digital tools on students’ learning and attitudes toward the subject of mathematics. The following question was investigated: 

-       What does current research say about the impact of digital tools on students’ learning and their attitude toward mathematics?

This literature study was based on systematic searches, through the database ERIC-EBSCO. Ten articles related to the research question were collected and reviewed. This study analyzed empirical studies that have investigated students' learning and attitudes regarding aid of digital tools in mathematics education.

The result shows that digital tools improve students’ learning achievements and affect their attitudes in a positive way. The result also shows that digital tools enhance learners’ situational interest and motivation, which contributes to the learning. In a few of the base studies, the results showed no change in learning or attitudes. Despite those few negative findings in the majority of cases, digital tools gave a positive influence. The study investigated not only digital tools impact, but also looked into what type of digital tools were most effective in learning.
