Abstract [en]

In the current society, the reintegration and rehabilitation of individuals with previous criminal records have become obvious general concerns due to their social and economic impact. The purpose of the study is to examine, through interviews, the experiences and perceptions of individuals who work to support people who have served prison sentences, with the aim of identifying the factors and support measures that contribute to effective reintegration into society. We also focus on how professionals in various agencies and organizations perceive collaboration and how this affects the support provided to individuals who have served prison sentences. By examining previous research and verified data, the study points out several key interventions that influence the reintegration development. The study indicates the importance of establishing a solid foundation for formerly imprisoned individuals before focusing on workforce reintegration, deepening the need for education and professional development. In this process, the results also demonstrate that individual support and mentorship does play a very large role. Additionally, the study does focus on the importance of collaboration among several stakeholders, including governmental agencies and user organizations, to ensure a total and effective reintegration. This study not only adds to an intensified understanding of the reintegration process for individuals with earlier criminal records but also illuminates its impact on societal well-being through reduced criminal activity and social stability. It also indicates the complicated challenges society faces in balancing the provision of fresh start opportunities and addressing degeneration risks. By taking on a total perspective, the study strives to add to a more inclusive and decent future for formerly imprisoned individuals and society as a whole.
