Facilitators often face time-consuming challenges when preparing for Game-Based Learning (GBL), from choosing a game to preparing a lesson plan. Especially those games that do not have support from the developers. Facilitator guides can help bridge this gap, but few games come with such guides and developers may not have experience with developing pedagogy. How will the developer create helpful guides? This study aims to create a sustainable multicultural heuristics framework to assist board game developers in creating facilitator guides through a multicultural approach in a formal setting. This framework was created by modifying Active Learning Classroom management with Games Based Learning pedagogy and refined through reviewing other facilitator guides. The resulting framework created a guide tested in Kenya and Sweden by experienced educators. The framework’s 39 heuristic questions were found robust for developers to produce informative guides. Consequently, participants expressed a preference for games that include facilitator guides.
