Abstract [en]

Introduction and Goals - This study explores the use and impact of BIM (Building Information Modeling) within the construction industry. The goal is to identify how BIM technology streamlines work processes and increases project profitability by reducing mistakes and improving collaborations between architects and engineers.

Methodology – Data was collected through a combination of qualitative interviews with professionals in the construction industry, surveys among various stakeholders, and a literature review that utilized BIM technology.

Results – The results indicated significant improvements in project communication and document management with BIM. Most of the respondents reported reduced time expenditure and cost savings. However, challenges related to skill shortages and resistance to adopting new technology also emerged.

Analysis – The data analysis indicated that BIM has potential to revolutionize the construction industry but also highlighted the need for education and organizational changes to fully leverage the technology.

Discussion – The discussion emphasizes the importance of strategic investments in BIM and education to bridge the skills gap. Additionally, the standardization of BIM processes id discussed as means to facilitate broader implementation within the industry.
