Abstract [en]
With the increased amount of clothes being purchased online, it is more important than ever for companies to assist their customers both in-store and online. This has led to the development of interactive size guides to help businesses assist their customers in finding the right size for their products. However, none of these interactive size guides are currently specialized for outdoor companies. Therefore, the question was posed by the contacted outdoor company, "What could an interactive size guide look like for a Swedish outdoor company?"
The purpose of this study is to identify design principles adjusted for an interactive size guide that decreases returns and thereby supports a more sustainable logistic flow. This is to benefit the company financially but also to reduce the company's carbon footprint, as fewer packages need to be sent back and forth.
The chosen research design is Design Science Research Methodology (DRSM) consisting of six steps in the development process. A prototype was first developed by drawing inspiration from existing interactive size guides. After interviews with individuals working at the company, an iteration was made where the prototype was upgraded. This update was then validated by potential users. Users were able to explain what they liked and disliked, which in turn needed further updates. Finally, all of this was analyzed, and the prototype was presented to the company.
