Digital media - An instrument for healt promotion? : A literature review (English)
Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

Background: Working towards health promotion is becoming increasingly important for the nurse to reduce the burden of care and costs in the future, as well as reduce the proportion of chronic illnesses. The nurse's work includes developing both herself and nursing. Within the nurse's core competencies there are informatics where e-health exists as a concept where interventions are included. Aim: The aim was to investigate the effects of the general nurse's use of digital media in health promoting purposes. Method: A litterature study with a four steps analasys was conducted containing 11 scientific articles. Result: Most of the articles reviewed had positive significant results regarding physical health and diet, psychological health, risk behaviours and compliance regarding diet and medication. Conclusion: To use digital media for health promoting purposes has a positive effect. This might lead to an increase in health promoting interventions on digital media to reduce the occurrence of, or manage, chronic diseases in the future.
