Abstract [en]

This thesis is an investigation into suitable control algorithms for military applications of the high frequency (600kHz) LLC Converter. The thesis focuses on establishing a basis for mimicking a military application; loads, sources and peripheral conditions. The mimicked system is then used for evaluation of high-performance algorithms suggested by the latest research in the field. The algorithms used, mainly aim to either solve an existing problem such as over current or improve performance in load response. The result was not ideal for a comparison between the algorithms due to the narrow applicability of many of the latest research control strategies. The four algorithms used resulted in only one which could be applied on a 600kHz converter. The remaining algorithms violated the frequency area for where they were applicable, which resulted in a conclusion regarding the control design limitations. The report’s conclusion is that a PI controller is not ideal for a converter in a military application, due to lack of current limitation, but the PI controller was the only algorithm able to control the system which leaves it as the strongest candidate with certain design restrictions.

Denna rapport behandlar en undersökning av passande regleralgoritmer för militära applikationer, rörande högfrekventa LLC omvandlare. Fokuset i denna rapport ligger i att etablera en bas för att efterlikna militära applikationer; så som laster, källor och yttre villkor. En simulering av en LLC omvandlare på 600kHz har konstruerats för att utvärdera den senaste forskningen rörande regleralgoritmer. Algoritmerna som används riktar sig mot att lösa nuvarande problem som stora strömmar eller att öka prestanda vid lastvariationer. Resultatet var inte optimalt för en jämförelse mellan regleralgoritmer, på grund av stora begränsningar i reglerstrategier som återger inom senaste forskningen. Av de fyra reglerstrategierna som jämfördes (PI, linjäriserad och inversfunktions lineariserad kaskadreglering samt förenklad optimal reglering) var endast en applicerbar på en 600kHz LLC omvandlare. De övriga algoritmerna var inte applicerbara vid högre frekvenser, vilket resulterade i en slutsats rörande designvillkoren för regleralgoritmerna. Rapportens slutsats blev att en PI spänningsregulator inte är optimal i en militär applikation, då reglering av spänning inte ger utrymme för begränsning eller kontroll av ström, däremot var endast PI-kontrollern kapabel till att lösa problemet och blir därav den starkaste kandidaten med vissa begränsningar i designen.
