Aim: Examine preschool teacher’s perceptions about pedagogic meal.
Design: The survey included an inductive approach, intensity sampling, semi-structured interviews and a qualitative content analysis.
Results: The result was presented on the basis of four main categories; the first, The preschool teacher´s view of the pedagogic meal. The second, Factors in the environment that affect the educational meal with the subcategories Room and group size, How food is served, Space and time for the meal, Interruptions during meals. Subsequently, the category Socialization during the meal with two subcategories, Norms and rules & Learning strategies affect children's habits. Finally, the category Preschool teachers’ knowledge, background and development with the subcategories Learning strategies affect children's habits & skills development is needed.
Conclusions: Further research is proposed to be quantitative research, a survey to test what emerged in the results of this study. This would provide a basis for creating guidelines and policies for how a pedagogical meal should be shaped more concretely.
