Outdoor mathematics : A study on the impact of the outdoor environment on students' learning (English)
Abstract [en]

The purpose of this study is, by doing a learning study in three second grade classes, investigate how outdoor mathematics effects student learning and how to analyze teaching. I chose to focus on the topic measurement, and through a pretest with the students, the critical aspect was identified as estimation of decimeter. In carrying out my learning study, I use a book by Mun Ling Lo (2012). I use for instance, her model of how a learning study is carried out. The results show that all three classes developed knowledge about the topic length. From the pretests the results show that the students correct answers are as low from 15%. But after the outdoor lesson, the results were from 62% and upwards.

Syftet med studien är att genom utförande av en learning study i tre klasser i årskurs 2, undersöka hur utomhusmatematik påverkar elevernas lärande samt hur man kan arbeta med analys av undervisningen. Jag valde att fokusera på ämnesområdet mätning, och genom ett förtest med eleverna identifierades den kritiska aspekten uppskattning av decimeter. Vid utförandet av min learning study utgår jag från en bok av Mun Ling Lo (2012). Jag använder mig bland annat av hennes modell av hur en learning study genomförs. Resultaten visar att alla tre klasser utvecklade kunskaper inom ämnesområdet längd. Från förtesterna kunde man se att eleverna låg lågt i antal rätta svar, från 15%. Men efter utomhuslektionen låg resultaten på från 62% och uppåt.
