Heterogeneous Multiscale Methods for Highly Oscillatory and Dissipative Ordinary Differential Equations (English)
Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

In this report we study a class of numerical algorithms under the name of heterogeneous multiscale methods. We present an introduction to the subject and analyze the stability and accuracy of a few implementations of dissipative and oscillatory problems. Furthermore, we demonstrate its superiority in comparison to tradtional numerical methods for these types of problems. Finally, we also present an implementation on a larger problem, namely the well known three-body problem.
