Abstract [sv]

I artikeln behandlas mätningar av absorptionskoefficienten, parametern som beskriver hur ljud absorberas, för ett nytt kompositmaterial framtaget för bland annat installation i Globen. De metoder som användes begränsades till mätning i efterklangsrum samt mätningar med en ljudintensitetsprob. Frågeställningen var vad för värde på absorptionskoefficienten de olika metoderna gav samt för- och nackdelar mellan metoderna. Båda metoderna gav en koefficient på alpha 0.8 för flertalet frekvensband. Trots likheter i resultat ansågs mätningen i efterklangsrummet som mer pålitligt i och med dess noggranna standard. För båda metoderna ansågs resultatet ha störst användbarhet i jämförelsesyfte för att jämföra materialet med andra material framtagna för liknande användningsområden. Abstract [en]

This article is about measurements of the absorption factor, describing how well a material absorbs sound, for a new composite material meant to be installed in, for instance, Globen. The methods used were measurements in a reverberation room and measurements with sound intensity. Questions dealt with were what the value of the absorption factor would be for both the methods and pros and cons between them. For both methods, an absorption factor of alpha 0.8 was obtained in several of the frequencies. Despite the similar results, the measurement in the reverberation room was regarded as more reliable due to its more rigorous standard. The result was, for both the methods, said to be most reliable to compare the material with other materials meant to have similar characteristics to see which is best to use.
