Detta examensarbete går ut på att utveckla munstycket till en av undervattensrobotarna hos Weda AB. Huvudproblemet är upptag av stora partiklar från bassängbotten och den befintliga produkten erhåller varken en effektiv funktion eller en tilltalande design, då denna avviker från resten av undervattensroboten. Förståelsen av problemet tillsammans med en noggrann planering av arbetet och repeterande idégenerering har varit avgörande för projektet. I rapporten kommer två koncept att presenteras och jämföras med det befintliga verktyget för att därefter ställas mot varandra på ett objektivt sätt, med hjälp av en koncept poängsättningsmatris. När slutkonceptet valts har denna genomgått ytterligare utvecklingar och senare prototyp framkallats samt testats i verkligheten.

Abstract [en]

This thesis is about developing the nozzle for one of the underwater robots at Weda AB. The main problem is the uptake of large particles from the bottom of the pool and the existing product receives neither an efficient function nor an attractive design since it deviates from the rest of the underwater robot. Understanding the problem together with careful planning of the work and repetitive idea generation has been crucial for the project. In the report, two concepts will be presented and compared with the existing tool in order to be placed against each other in an objective manner, with the help of a prioritizing matrix. Once the final concept has been chosen, this has undergone further developments and subsequently prototyped and tested in reality.
