The relationship between educator and teaching material : An empirical study on the relationship between educator and teaching material (English)
Abstract [en]

This study is an analysis of the relationship between teachers and teaching materials within the field of mathematics. The study answers how the relationship between teachers and teaching aids affects the use of teaching aids in the planning an execution of mathematics education, focusing on the earlier stages of compulsory school, first to third year. The study also examines how the student book is utilized during mathematic lessons. The information is collected through qualitative interviews with active teachers for earlier school years, 1-3. The results show that teachers want the relationship to be built upon a combination of their own experience with the support of teaching material. The result also shows that the usage of the student book ranges from half to the entire lesson period where the main purpose for the book is to perform mathematic exercises. The thesis is concluded with on future research within this field.

Abstract [sv]

Denna studie är en undersökning om relationen mellan lärare och läromedel inom matematik. Undersökningen syftar till att ge svar på hur relationen mellan lärare och läromedel påverkar användandet av läromedel vid planering och genomförande av matematikundervisning i grundskolans tidigare stadier, årskurs 1–3. Syftet är även att undersöka hur elevboken används i undervisningen. Datainsamling sker genom kvalitativa intervjuer med aktiva lärare för tidigare skolår 1-3. Resultatet visar att lärare vill att relationen ska byggas på en balans av den egna erfarenheten i kombination med läromedlet. Användandet av elevboken sträcker sig allt från hälften till hela lektionstiden och det främsta användningsområdet för boken är räkning av övningsuppgifter. Uppsatsen avslutas med förslag på hur vidare forskning kan se ut.
