Abstract [sv]

Mathem ar en onlinebaserad matvarubutik med over 8000 leveranser per dag i Stockholmsomradet. Deras koncept gar ut pa att leverera matvaror hem till kunder som har gjort enbestallning via internet. Foretaget benner sig i en situation dar tillvaxten ar stor samtidigtsom konkurrensen inom branschen aven ar det. Detta innebar att Mathem standigt behovereektivisera delar inom foretaget for att hantera tillvaxten.Syftet med denna rapport ar att analysera Mathems lagerverksamhet och huvudsakligenundersoka resursanvandningen. Avgransningar gjordes for studien och det mynnade ut ifragestallningen:Hur pass eektivt nyttjas resurserna hos Mathem samt nns det nagon del i produktionensom drastiskt behover forbattras?Denna studie ar ett kandidatexamensarbete som har utforts under institutionen IndustriellProduktion pa Kungliga Tekniska Hogskolan i Stockholm. En faltanalys genomfordes paplats i lagret i Bromma dar verksamheten observerades och genom intervjuer av Mathemsledning och personal sa inhamtades data och information. Vidare anvandes vetenskapligateorier och metoder inom Lean Produktion for att identiera hur val dessa anvands inomforetaget samt hur de kan implementeras.Analysen av faltstudien pavisar att det nns forbattringsomraden inom plock och lagringav varor som kan eektiviseras. Det omradet som drastiskt behover forbattras anser vi arutlastningsdelen. Detta grundar sig i att utlasten ar den del i produktionen som har detmest fysiska kravande arbetet dar manga misstag som sker beror pa den fysiska belastningenpa personalen. En eektivisering av denna del i produktionen innebar att arbetsrelateradeskador pa personalen minskar, produktionstakten kan okas och precisionen pa arbetsgangenvid utlast okar. Ett forslag for att automatisera utlastningsdelen, dar lador foryttas ochstaplas, har presenterats dar en mojlig losning har tagits fram med hjalp av personal franABB Robotics. For att en automatisering skall vara aktuell ar tid och kostnad tva viktigafaktorer. Darmed har data och resonemang kring hur snabbt en automationslosning kanarbeta och pa sa satt oka produktionstakten framforts samt att en kostnadskalkyl har presenterats.En robotcell klarar av att forytta en lada pa 6 s och forslaget grundar sig i attinstallera sex stycken robotceller. Konstandskalkylen redogor for den ekonomiska delen darbreak-even nas inom ca tre ar.

Abstract [en]

Mathem is an online based grocery store with more than 8000 deliveries per day in theStockholm region. The company's concept is to deliver groceries to their customers whohave placed an order via internet. Currently the company is growing, but at the same timefacing sti competition. In order to maintain the momentum of growth and expand, it mustconstantly develop eective use of its resources.The purpose of this study is to analyze Mathems warehousing and mainly examine theuse of resources in the warehouse. The report was narrowed down to focus on the part thatis in most need of improvement, according to the following question:How eective is the use of resources at Mathem and is there a part of the production thatdrastically needs to improve?The study is a Bachelor thesis that was carried out at the institution of Production Managementat The Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. A eld study was performedat the warehouse in Bromma where the work process was observed. By interviewing managersand working sta in Mathem, information and data about the organization structure,function and work environment were collected. A literature study about Lean Productionwas conducted where scientic theories and methods were used to get an insight into howa production company is managed, how these theories and methods are applied in Mathemand also how they could come to use.The analysis of the eld study shows that there is room for improvement within the pickingand storage segment of the goods. The area in production which is considered to bein most need of improvement is the outloading department. This is based on that fact thatthe outloading department is the most physically demanding part of the facility where manymistakes that occur are a result of the heavy work for the personnel. An improvementof this part in the warehouse would mean that work related injuries would decrease, thecompany could increase the production rate and the work precision. A proposal for an automatedsolution for the outloading department, where boxes are transported and stacked, ispresented. Details regarding the proposal which includes data and cost were collected withthe help of personnel from ABB Robotics. For an automation to be in question, time andcost is two important factors. Reasoning and data have been presented regarding how quickthe automation solution could work and a cost calculation has been made. One robot cellmanages to transport and staple a box in six seconds, and the automation solution is basedin installing six of these robot cells. The cost calculation describes the economic part of theproposed solution where break-even is reached within three years.
