Abstract [en]

This work is investigating an intralogistics material handling problem within a global manufacturer ofheavy vehicles. Real-Time Location System solutions are investigated based on their wirelesstechnology used for communication in an environment where many metallic semi-finished parts caninterference with wireless signals. It is analyzed if the defined use case can be solved by an “off-theshelf”solution without major infrastructural changes. In the end it is also discussed which prerequisitesare required to implement RTLS solution in the context of other Industry 4.0 technology anddevelopment of production systems in the future.

Det här arbetet undersöker ett problem med materialhantering hos den global tillverkare av tunga fordon.Real-Time Location System-lösningar undersöks utifrån den trådlösa teknik som används förkommunikation i en miljö där många metalliska halvfabrikat kan störa trådlösa signaler. Det analyserasom det definierade användningsfallet kan lösas med en "off-the-shelf" -lösning utan störreinfrastrukturförändringar. I slutet diskuteras också vilka förutsättningar som krävs för att implementeraRTLS-lösningen också i samband med annan Industry 4.0-teknik och utveckling av produktionssystemi framtiden.
