Abstract [en]

This thesis presents analyses of the landing impact of stratospheric balloon gondolas and two of the current systems used for protecting a gondola during landing. From the analyses a new system for sizing the protecting crashpads was developed. The new system provides better protection compared to the old method for sizing the crashpads. Finally recommendations on further work on the subject is given.

Den här rapporten presenterar analyser avlandningsförloppet av tratosfäriska ballonggondoler ochtvå nuvarande  dämpare som  används  för  att  skydda gondoler vid landning.  I analysen utvecklas ett nytt system som klarar mer extrema lastfall gentemot redan existerande  system.  Rapporten ger slutligen rekommendationer för fortsatt arbete.
