Abstract [en]

This phenomenographic study is based on qualitative interviews with four teachers that teach science in secondary school. The aim of this study is to illustrate which teaching methods, secondary teachers in science subjects, perceive that they have of with texts in science to reach all the students. The following questions are the research questions.

- How do teachers in secondary school perceive as the concept texts in science?

- What do secondary school teachers in science perceive that is a successful teaching when they work with texts?

- What do secondary school teachers in science perceive as challenging when they use texts?

In the study it is revealed that these four teachers perceive that they use a series of different methods to reach and develop all the students reading in science. Three different perceptions are revealed in the phenomenon. The categories are texts, successful teaching methods and challenges. Within these categories are revealed subcategories. Within texts are revealed teaching books, subject-language and oral. Within teaching methods are revealed subcategories compensatory teaching method and teaching environment. The category with challenges reveals subcategories individual, variation and time.

Abstract [sv]

Denna fenomenografiska studie grundar sig på kvalitativa intervjuer med fyra lärare som undervisar i NO-ämnena på högstadiet. Syftet med studien är att belysa vilka undervisningsmetoder lärare, i NO-ämnena på högstadiet, uppfattar att de har, kring texter i sin undervisning, för att nå alla sina elever.  Följande frågeställningar är utgångspunkten för studien.

  • Hur uppfattar lärarna på högstadiet begreppet texter i NO-ämnena?
  • Vad uppfattar lärarna, som undervisar i NO-ämnena på högstadiet, som framgångsrik undervisningsmetod när de arbetar med texter?
  • Vad uppfattar lärarna, som undervisar i NO-ämnena på högstadiet, som utmanade i sin undervisning när de arbetar med texter?

I studien framkommer att dessa fyra lärare uppfattar att de använder en rad olika metoder för att nå och utveckla alla elevers läsning i NO-ämnena. Tre olika uppfattningar framkom av fenomenet. Kategorierna är texter, framgångsrika metoder och utmaningar. Inom dessa kategorier framkom underkategorier. Inom texter framkom läroböcker, ämnesspråk och muntligt. Inom undervisningsmetoder framkom underkategorierna kompensatorisk och lärmiljön. Inom kategorin utmaningar framkom underkategorierna individ, variation och tid.
