Abstract [sv]

En framtid där människor bor i smarta hem kommer allt närmare, och stora mängder data kommer att samlas in om de boende och deras vanor i den smarta bostaden. Redan idag finns det stora problem med att göra smarta hem-system säkra, då de ständigt modifieras när nya enheter adderas till redan befintliga system. I uppsatsen undersöks vilka risker personer som direkt eller indirekt påverkar utvecklingen av smarta hem-system ser i det smarta hemmet, och hur de anser att dessa risker kan påverka den boende. Uppsatsen bygger på en fallstudie med intervjuer som datainsamlingsmetod. De risker som har identifierats är bland andra vem äger data, bristande kunskaper, mjukvaruuppdateringar och kränkning av den personliga integriteten. Slutsatsen är att risk är kontextberoende och därmed är det vilken information som samlas in och om vem som avgör om något utgör en risk.

Abstract [en]

A future where people live in smart homes is coming closer and large amounts of data of the residents in these houses and their habits will be collected. There are already major issues making smart home systems secure as they are constantly modified when new devices are added to the already existing systems. This paper examines the risks that individuals who directly or indirectly affect the development of smart home systems see and how they think these risks will affect the residents. The thesis is based upon a case study with interviews as the data collection method. The risks that are identified are for example violation of privacy, lack of software updates and insufficient knowledge about information security among residents and software companies. These are not general problems, the context determines if something poses a risk or not.
