Abstract [en]

Aim

The aim of this study is to investigate the examination elements of education in ball games and friluftsliv at the Swedish School of Sport and Health Sciences in Stockholm, their connection to the national curriculum in physical education (PE) and their relevance to the scholars future role as teachers in PE.

  1. What should the scholars know according to the examination tasks?
  2. How do the teacher educators assess the examinations tasks?
  3. How do the scholars experience the examination tasks and the tasks assessments?

Method

In this study two methods has been applied for the collection of data. Qualitative, semi-structured interviews with students at the teacher program and teacher educators at the Swedish School of Sport and Health Sciences in Stockholm. Textual analysis of the selected moment- and delmoment-PM from the course Sports Didactics 3 that was in the spring of 2016. All interviews were recorded and transcribed. As for theoretical framework Schulman's theory of Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) has been used.

Results

The results shows that the examination tasks in the course we studied mainly deals with the students' pedagogical content knowledge. Often in the form of written assignments. However, the tuition mainly seems to focus on the students' content knowledge. The students also feel that during the course there is more often focus on developing their own personal skills than to develop their didactic ability.

Conclusions

The division of the content may allow the scholars to feel that they do not learn what they later become graduates on. For the relationship between scholars education and future professionals to become stronger, both tuition and examination tasks should treat pedagogical content knowledge.

Syfte och frågeställningar

Syftet med studien är att undersöka och analysera de examinerande uppgifterna i bollspel och friluftsliv på Gymnastik- och idrottshögskolan i Stockholm samt dess relation till skolans styrdokument i idrott och hälsa och dess relevans för lärarrollen.

  1. Vad ska studenterna kunna enligt examinationsuppgifterna?
  2. Hur bedömer lärarutbildarna examinationsuppgifterna?
  3. Hur upplever studenterna examinationsuppgifterna samt dess bedömning?

Metod

I studien har två metoder för datainsamling tillämpats. En del består av kvalitativa, halvstrukturerade intervjuer med idrottslärarstudenter och lärarutbildare på Gymnastik- och idrottshögskolan i Stockholm. Den andra delen är en textanalys av utvalda moment-PM och delmoment-PM från kursen Idrott Didaktisk Inriktning 3 som gick våren 2016. Alla intervjuer spelades in och transkriberades. Det teoretiska ramverk som används är Schulmans ramverk om Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK).

Resultat

Resultatet visar att examinationsuppgifterna i den kurs vi undersökt främst behandlar studenternas kunskap om pedagogiskt innehåll. Ofta i form av skriftliga uppgifter. Dock verkar undervisningen till största del fokusera på studenternas kunskap om innehåll. Studenterna upplever även att det under kursen oftare är fokus på att utveckla egna personliga färdigheter än att utveckla deras didaktiska förmåga.

Slutsats

Uppdelningen av innehållet gör att studenterna kan uppleva att de inte lär sig det som de senare blir examinerade på. För att relationen mellan studenternas utbildning och framtida profession ska bli tydligare bör både undervisningen och examinationsuppgifterna behandla kunskap om pedagogiskt innehåll.
