The Voice of Unaccompanied Refugee Children’s Need in Residential Care Homes (English)
Abstract [sv]

Varje år kommer ett stort antal ensamkommande flyktingbarn barn tillSverige och placeras vanligtvis på HVB-hem. Syftet med denna studievar att undersöka vilka behov som ensamkommande flyktingbarn harpå HVB-hem. Respondenterna var fem unga män över 18 årursprungligen från Afghanistan som kom till Sverige somensamkommande flyktingbarn. Respondenter som hade tidigare bottpå ett HVB-hem intervjuades om sina upplevelser på HVB-hem. Eninduktiv tematisk analys användes för att analysera desemistrukturerade intervjuerna. Resultatet sammanställdes till femhuvudteman och nio subteman som beskriver deras behov: Personal,Gemenskap, Hemmakänsla, HVB-hem, Prata med någon. Samttillhörande subteman: Relation, Tillit, Utveckling, Bli lyssnad på, Kompisar, Respekt, Familj, Trygghet, Kontroll, Struktur, Integration.Sammanfattningsvis har denna studie bidragit med viktig kunskap isträvan att förstå ensamkommande flyktingbarns behov inom HVBhem

Abstract [en]

The aim of this study was to examine which needs unaccompaniedrefugee children have on residential care homes. The participants werefive young men 18 years or older from Afghanistan who came toSweden as unaccompanied refugee children. These participants whohave previously lived in a residential care home for unaccompaniedrefugee children were interviewed. An inductive thematic method wasused to analyze the semistructured interviews. The results of theanalysis showed that the participants shared thoughts and feelingsabout the residential care home, these were compiled in to five mainthemes: Staff, Fellowship, Home feeling, Residental Care Home, Talkto someone. And related subthemes: Relation, Trust, Development,Getting listened to, Friends, Respect, Family, Safety, Control,Structure, Integration. In conclusion this study have conductedimportant knowledge in understanding what needs unaccompaniedrefugee children could have on a residential care home.
