Todays hospitals have a lot of samples; tissue, saliva and blood to mention a few. These samples are stored in refrigerators with little or no monitoring; temperatures being written down by hand twice a day to get a backlog are not an uncommon event. This report deals with that problem by providing a central monitored cost eﬀective wireless sensor platform using ZigBee, which is easy to maintain and expand. The thesis was made for the clinical physiology lab at Sunderbyn hospital. The internal supervisor was Professor Per Lindgren at EISLAB and the external supervisor was Joackim Barkman at Länsteknik.
