Abstract [en]

Sexuality is an important part of the overall experience of a persons wellbeing and health. For women suffering from gynecological cancer the sexuality is effected by the disease as well as the treatment. Studies have shown that there is a lack of communication about sexuality in healthcare. The aim of this study was to try and identify factors for a successful dialogue about sexuality with women suffering from gynecological cancer. A systematic research for relevant articles was executed and the results of chosen articles were compiled. The result became following five factors: a clear preparation before the dialogue, create trust in the beginning of the dialogue, identify specific needs during the dialogue, individualize interventions and documentaion as a form of evaluation and/or follow-up.This study can be seen as a plan of action that nurses can use if they are in need of support when it comes to talking about sexuality with women suffering from gynecological cancer.
