The purpose of this study has been to identify whether teachers at a secondary school in Norrbotten see themselves, according to theories in internal marketing, as marketers of themselves, their program and/or their school. The studies aim has been to identify whether this marketing assignment, the relationship the teachers have towards their students and factors of external pressure have led to conflicts in the ethical authority of office that grading means. And if this conflict can be a factor in creating grade inflation in the Swedish school system.
