Reinvestering i småskalig vattenkraft

Abstract [en]

This paper is handling investment options for small scale hydropower. The work has been done at Skellefteå Kraft AB plants. The company´s small scale facilities have been worked through and appropriate ones has been selected for reinvestment options with appropriate technologies for each one. These technologies have then been considered if they could be used at a large scale hydropower dam. The small scale plants that have been studied is located at Rickleå river and Åman river. In the both of them there is two plants that is treated in this paper, Fredrikfors and Sågfors in Rickeå river, and upper Åman and lower Åman in Åman river. All of the units was built in the first half of the 1900-century. For these facilities, technologies have been picked from both known and unknown producers of hydropower equipment. Some of the more familiar is ANDRITZ, which got three different unit types represented, two of them is of compact type like the Bulbunit, Hydromatrix and Straflomatrix. And the other one is called the Hydraulic screw that is a version of Archimedes screw. Another well-known manufacturer is Voith/Kössler which is part of the Siemens group, they´ve got a competing technic in the compact segment, StreamDiver. The main difference from ANDRITZ technologies is that the StreamDiver is water lubricated, while the other two is oil lubricated. Some of the more unknown manufacturers that is presented is Ossberger and VLH. Ossberger presents a Cross-flow turbine, which is fully regulated, as the only one of the technics treated in this paper. One last concept that is brought to attention is VLH-Turbine, a newly developed “fish-friendly” unit, which is a result of a research project carried out. The main target for this technic is lower heads but high flow.The results for the solutions of the selected plants is summarized below:• Upper Åman –Ossberger Cross-flow turbine.• Lower Åman –ANDRITZ Hydraulic screw.• Fredrikfors –Kössler StreamDiver.• Sågforsen –A fully regulated single unit, like Ossberger Cross-flow.• For large scale hydropower dams technics like VLH-Turbine, Hydromatrix, Straflomatrix, StreamDiver and Ossberger is suitable.For the small scale hydropower there is financial calculation verifying the result. For the large scale hydropower there is a technical estimation.
