Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
The purpose of this paper is to examine how it is possible to make transcriptions of works written for the accordion with nine-row base side to the accordion with six-row base side. Torbjörn Iwan Lundquist Metamorphoses (1965) has been transcribed, and a previous transcription of Volker von Ohlen were used as reference. The results are presented in the form of notationexamples and a recording of the transcribed work. The transcription is largely on the conservation or development of sound and musical flow. The transcription has been commented upon by two active accordion enthusiasts, highlighting both traditional and innovative solutions.
