Abstract [en]

When is a drawing finished and who decides it is? How important is a draft? The purpose of this paper is to investigate who owns the right to determine which phase a visual project is in. Starting-point for the research is the academic model in which someone other than the creator determines if a project is finished or in need of completion. A handful of more or less known Swedish artists are interviewed on their view of the final stage of the creative process. A graphic novel which was produced without the possibility of altering or editing drawings and without drafts or studies is presented as artifact.
