Infrared motion detector for the Mulle EIS platform

Abstract [en]

The entire process of sensor modeling, investigating pyroelectric theory, discussion of parameters and evaluation by simulations, followed by the building of the non-low power design with a quite high current consumption and a power supply of 5V, solutions to fix problems(turning off) of comparator stages, with resistors to reduce the input current to them. Continuing on with the low power (3.3V @ 100uA when active) design, simulations and mounting of it. The next stage of the process, focuses on the PCB building, noise filtering for coupling Mulle V3 with the sensor, and fitting everyting into a small box. A Fresnel lens is mounted to the box, to get a wider range of detection. Software has been written to link the Mulle EIS Platform to communicate the information sensed, and have it available on the Internet. Bluetooth is used as a communication link. Conclusions are given on reduction of supply current to obtain a long battery life, aesthetics of the final prototype, and the program of intercommunication.
