Abstract [en]

The purpose of this study is to illustrate how teachers express their thoughts about the conditions for children to learn multiple languages ​​in kindergarten and how they connect these ideas to practical activities. The study shows how pedagogues can work practically with the language, and what may promote children's language development. Furthermore, it provides a picture of the way research looks at multilingualism in preschool. The basis for this qualitative study is an examination conducted by the method Self Report, which pedagogues have been expressing their thoughts and experiences about the use of foreign languages in preschools The study was carried out to seven preschool teachers. The results show that teachers' thoughts on foreign languages ​​and multilingualism in preschool is slightly different in operation, depending on how integrated the language is. The results also showed that teachers see everyday situations as a source of language use, and that children's experiences and interests formed the basis of how the language used in the business.
