Abstract [en]

This thesis is a study of dance and class teachers' thoughts and opinions on the dance space in the school. The work also addresses the question of how collaboration between teacher and dance teacher might appear. The study is based on qualitative interviews with dance and class teachers who have experience of dance in school. The literature clarifies how dance can be used as an art form and / or method for achieving goals in other subjects. It also clarifies how the student by dramatizing, transform and exaggerate and highlight the typical interpret their experiences. The aesthetic and cultural forms are already in the child's play. The literature also shows that we learn from each other and affect each other in socio-cultural environment. Study results show that the common environment forms teacher’s collaboration. The results also show that the school curriculum (Skolverket, 2011) controls the dance teachers and classroom teachers in their perception regarding if the dance should be a separate area of knowledge or a method to achieve objectives in other subjects. It is also clear that the interviewed dance teachers and classroom teachers see many different uses for the dance in school.
