Abstract [en]

The main purpose with my final year project is to provide an overview of the major trends taking place in the automotive industry along the world the last years, studying the actual situation of the sector with an especial emphasis in the three main fields that have been studied here, mergers and acquisitions, supplier system and low cost countries, making an overview of the behaviour of the major players in this sector, both automakers and suppliers. The report will also develop a picture of how the automotive sector is likely to develop on the next years based on recent trends and actual situation and always focusing the study under the three main themes that we have thought that they are some of the most representative of this sector. To get a picture of the current trends and expected future developments in the automotive industry, a variety of literature sources was evaluated.
